Home invasion Gone Bad-how hidden Security cameras can help
Home invasions are becoming increasingly popular with the criminal element, because these days they seem to revolve around drugs more often than not. A home invasion is just a new look at the home burglary. Home burglary usually happens when the homeowners are not only by a criminal who is unarmed during the day.
Home invasions are much more serious, at least in my opinion. They are committed by two or more people who usually at a time when they know that the homeowners are armed are there. There is thus a much greater chance of a confrontation. It seems lately drugs usually are involved.
This story is really bizarre. Recently in Connecticut a home invasion turned into a drug bust with two home invaders on the run. Police arrested the homeowner while the home invaders away got.
The home invaders used subterfuge to get in the House say they were from the gas company and needed to read a meter. The homeowner led the readers meters to the basement where he several times in the head was taken.
There was a shot, but it didn't hit anybody. A neighbor learned from someone close to the family how it all happened.
The homeowner's wife called police and the two home invaders took off. The homeowner was taken to hospital for treatment who left the police in the House to do their research.
It didn't take long to find the police a large amount of crack cocaine. So in the few minutes while the victim was in the hospital he was victim to criminal. At the police seemed the home invasion is the result of the cocaine was planned.
The West Hartford police saw the getaway car about an hour later, but did not catch the criminals. And they have a very thin description of them.
If the homeowners had a hidden camera, she would've caught images of the bad guys get in the House in the first place their internal security better.
The story, while a bit on the bizarre, points out a few things that can help prevent home invasions. First use the bad guys General deception and subterfuge to get into the House. In this case, they claimed to be from the utility company, but if it happens there was no utility company truck in the neighborhood. That idea should be number one.
Always ask for identification before a technician in the House late. Most home invasions right through the front door. Therefore, always use your peephole to see who is there before you open the door.
And hidden cameras, the image of someone come through your front door can capture. When you get one?
