Did you enjoy every type of woodwork project build? How about teaching your children how to work with their hands by building something crafty? If parents want certain traditions we can pass on to our children.

Now if you're not the creative type when it comes to working with wood, don't sweat it that everyone must start somewhere. Depending on how young is your child now there are a few things to keep in mind.

Children 5 and younger do not have the patience for certain things.

For example, these are things that I didn't want to do:

In any case try something simple at first as a simple NAPKIN HOLDER made of three or four pieces for them-heartedness. Drilling nail holes for them too. They get to put some glue on and some nails scared. Where the holder is together they can paint with all the colors of the Rainbow.

But if your kids are little older maybe between 7 and 10, I'd say building a House bird would be your best bet. Why because you're teaching them how to build a square box from scratch, and chances are you can complete within a few hours. A good mother day project that you could do on a Saturday afternoon.

Another suggestion would be a child's toolbox. You can build this with your child and make it a birthday gift for someone, fill it with a number of tools and maybe write their name on it.

If you are more advanced and your children have a few projects under their belt, you can use to build a picnic table for children.
